foxification effect

Campbell Brown’s “no bias no bull” segment (a clear ripoff of the “no spin zone”) is an example of the “foxification” of CNN (and, no, this is not a reference to the relative attractiveness of the news anchors, as one student may have been speculating). (sorry…i tried to embed her cnn video, but wordpress doesn’t support it without an upgrade–google cnn for her latest support of Sarah Palin’s clothes, as a continuing double standard issue.)   The real test of the popularity of cable news opinion is seen in the new salary negotiations, described in today’s Times.  They expect a fall off in ad budgets after the election, but suggest that the conservative Fox will continue to wear well as an “oppositional” style, although the audience is aging.  Liberal leaning MSNBC has had more luck with the younger viewers.
